Space Coast Ballet
Five weeks prior to Space Coast Ballet’s first performance of Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty,
ticket sales were well below projections. The ballet company invested heavily to bring an
authentic performance to central Florida, including a cast of internationally acclaimed ballet
stars, custom sets, and elaborately designed costumes.
We put together a public relations program to improve media relations and increase ticket sales.
Press releases and media alerts were sent to media outlets, ballet schools, cultural and social
organizations. We pitched different story angles on many facets of the ballet all aimed at
generating editorial or television features. The plan utilized calendar listings, flyers, posters,
PSA announcements, e-mail, and donated print ads. The Results:
- We secured a value of $ 34,340 of pre-event media coverage including print articles, television and radio interviews.
- Both FLORIDA TODAY and Space Coast Living Magazine sent reporters to the performance and wrote post-performance reviews.
- The final three weeks prior to the event saw the sale of 1381 tickets – meeting ticket sale goals
